Owloo is made by ALSOFT SIA, a company registered in Latvia. We are the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at hello (at) alsoft.dev.
Owloo is built for parents. We ask for as little as we can, we keep story content on your device, and we never sell your data or show adverts.
The short version
- You need an account to create a story or buy credits. You do not need one to listen to stories already on your device.
- The details you enter about your child are sent to our servers only to write and narrate the story. They are deleted from our servers as soon as the finished story reaches your device.
- Finished stories are stored on your device only. We do not keep a copy.
- We show no adverts, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
- Before your first story we ask your permission, in the app, to send those details. Nothing is sent until you agree.
- You can delete your account and all its data from inside the app.
What we collect, and why

We do not collect your contacts, your photos, your location, your advertising identifier, or your device's IDFV. Owloo has no adverts and no third-party ad software.
Children
Owloo is designed for a parent or guardian to use, alone or together with their child. We ask you not to let a child set up an account or make a purchase on their own.
We understand that the details you type describe a child. That is exactly why story details are erased from our servers the moment the story is on your device, and why we never use them to build a profile, to advertise, or to train any model.
Who else sees the data
To make a story we send your story details to the services that generate the text, pictures and narration. They act on our instructions only. We have turned off data sharing on our accounts with them, so your content is used to make your story and not to train their models:
- Providers of AI text and image generation — the story's words and pictures, and the safety check on what you type
- Google — hosting, sign-in, database and narration (Firebase and Google Cloud, in the European Union)
- Apple — purchases and Sign in with Apple
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers.
Where your data is held
Our servers and database run in the European Union (region europe-west1). Some of the providers listed above process content outside the EU. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Keeping stories safe
Everything you type is checked by an automatic safety filter before a story is written. If a request is not suitable for a children's story, Owloo refuses it and no story is made. Owloo has no chat, no comments and no sharing between users.
Stories are still made automatically, so we suggest you listen to a new one first.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask us to show you your data, correct it, delete it, or hand it to you in a portable form. You may also object to how we use it, and you may complain to your national data protection authority — in Latvia, the Data State Inspectorate.
The fastest route is in the app: open Settings → Account → Delete Account. This removes your account, your credit balance and any story still being made. For anything else, write to hello (at) alsoft.dev and we will answer within 30 days.
Our legal grounds
- Performing our contract with you — making stories, running your credit balance, handling purchases.
- Our legitimate interest — keeping the service safe and working, and fixing faults.
- Legal obligation — keeping tax and accounting records.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
